How to play CS:GO: improving your technique
At first glance, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a very simple game – it would seem: just run and shoot at these enemies. But this is a big misconception, and the more you play this game, the more you will dive into the details. But this is later. Now, the main thing is to learn the basic principles, which we will analyze in today’s material.
Main weapon training
There are a lot of weapons in CS:GO. Some of them shoot very effectively, and many beginners want to start training them as soon as possible. A prime example: Desert Eagle or AWP. But in the hands of a beginner, such a weapon is not at all effective. Therefore, it would be much better to start your training with more effective playable firearms. These are: pistols: Tec-9 (T), Five-SeveN (KT), P250 (both teams) and rifles: AK-47 (T) and M4A4 / M4A1-S (KT). Practice them first.
Practice your shooting
There is always a lot going on in CS:GO matches, so you should always be confident in your shooting. But it needs to be constantly trained:
You have three options:
- Start training on community-created maps specifically designed for aim training. Make this training in CS:GO your regular practice.
- Play with bots and try to focus only on shooting. Set aside other important things for a while.
- Play in deathmatch mode – this is a very good practice of fast shooting.
Keep track of your ammo
You should always have enough ammo in the magazine to be ready to kill virtual opponents. But reloading takes time, which means that at that moment you remain vulnerable. It would be wise to wait for the right moment to reload the weapon. But you need to know that you are safe and only do it when you really need more ammo in the magazine.
Choose one map and study it
Every map in Counter-Strike is more than walls and boxes. The cards determine the rules of the game, the behavior of both teams, possible strategies, and so on. To get better at CS:GO, you need to be good at certain maps.
Take a look at the most popular CS:GO maps. Choose the one you like the most. Start practicing on it and develop your skills until you reach a good level. Then move on to the next one.
Chat with teammates
You can be a very good player, but you can’t win a CS:GO match alone. This is primarily a team shooter, so start developing your communication skills right from the start.
Share your position, inform other players about the actions of the enemy, coordinate your team’s strategy in each round, and simply share your emotions. And you will surely become much more efficient in the game. And get more pleasure from the game.
Understand what map control is
Newcomers to CS:GO may try to transfer the behavior from other shooters, such as PUBG or Fortnite – and this is clearly not a way to become better at CS:GO. The game is not only about staying alive at the end of the round, but also about completing the task for the round. Counter-terrorists must focus on covering the approaches to the sites and patiently defend themselves. The terrorists should not only rush to the point of explosion, but also think about how to then protect it from any enemies. To do this, you need to control the map. And here the two previous tips will come to the rescue: you must know the locations and behave like a team.
